TRIAL MATCH TO-DAY I carlaw park attraction AUCKLAND TO PLAY THE REST With a view to the selection of the New Zealand i Rugby League team to tour Australia the first trial match will be played at Carlaw Park this afternoon, commencing at three o'clock. The Auckland representatives will mt>et a team selected from the Rest of the North Island and a keen game is anticipated as players will be anxious to catch tho eyes of the selectors. A number of new players will bo seen in action at Carlaw Park for the first time. Five Bay of Plenty players are incjuded in The Rest and some of them are said to be outstanding. Among the forwards J. Coutts, Wellington, is <well Known in Auckland, where he has played some fine games. Auckland will be represented by a strong side whose combination is likely to carry it to victory. Nevertheless, Rest is an unknown quantity and may spring a surprise.
