MR. SAVAGE'S PRAISE
TRIBUTE TO COLLEAGUE LABOUR PARTY'S POSITION [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION], WELLINGTON, Tuesday "It has just been delightful to have been one of the audience," said the Prime Minister, Mr. Savage, when prevailed upon by the audience to say a few words at the close of the address delivered by the Minister of Finance, the Hon. \V. Nash, at Lower Hutt last night. Mr. Savage was given an enthusiastic reception. "It does not come my way very often to be able to sit down and listen to an eloquent public address, and I want to praise my colleage for a brilliant exposition of the Labour Party's position he has given here this evening," added Mr. Savage. "Whatever may be said about us, you can keep on believing in us—not believing that wo are infallible or anything like that, but we are part and parcel of you, and if you must go down we want to go down with you, but there is no nped for that. We have the country hero, and if we have to tread on the corns of vested interests, well, we cannot help it."
