THE COOGAN LAWSUIT
MOTHER'S REPLY TO CLAIM „ (Received May 13, 5.5 p.m.) HOLLYWOOD, May 12 Mrs. Bernstein, mother of Jackie Coogan, and her husband, have entered a general denial of Coogan's suit for £BOO,OOO, earned while he was a minor. They assert ho earned only £375,000. They also deny that Coogan was forced to leave home when he was 21 and earn his living, and say he left of his own accord, The defence declares further that Coogan's earnings rightfully and legally belong to his mother and disclaims any interest in them for Bernstein, his stepfather.
