INCIDENT AT WHANGAREI Although game is not very plentiful for sportsmen in the North, a member of the Whangarei police force was abla to catch a pheasant in Cameron Street, the shopping centre of Whnngarei. The pheasant was Hying with a flock of gulls, and when the birds alighted in the street the pheasant-evidently became frightened of the traffic, as it ran into a boot shop. A constable caught the bird, which was hiding under' a shelf of footwear, and later liberated it.
