SOUTHLAND FIELDS THE AWARUA HANDICAP WILD CAREER IN FORM The one-day winter meeting of the Southland Racing Club will be held at Invercargill to-day. The Hkrai.d's correspondent telegraphed Inst evening that the weather was promising for the last racing day of the season in the province and that the track would be in good winter order. Jolly Beggar ran third in the Great Northern Hurdles last year under 11.13, 21b. more than he has been given, again as top-weight, in this year's contest. IJuskie, who was yunnor-up to Sandy Dix a year ago, then carried P.O and he has gone up to 10.7, having won the Campbell Hurdles and Frankton Hurdles subsequently. Jolly Beggar, who was also beaten for second by Huskio in the Bemuera Hurdles on the second day at Ellerslie, won the Jumpers' Flat at the Grand National Meeting in August
