King Visits Shadow Factory
The Kmc recently paid a private visit to the Standard aero engines shadow factory at Coventry, where the cylinder group of the Bristol Mercury engine is being manufactured. Hi's Majesty was met at the factory by Captain J. P. Black, managing director of the Standard Motor Company, and Mr. It. B. Cole, general manager of the shadow factory. His Majesty was obviously impressed when an operative in the standards room explained that the matrix thread measuring machine, on which ho was engaged at the time, was capable of checking to one-tenth of a thousandth' part of an inch,.
