TO THE FOUNTAIN

Into the sunshine, clear and bright, Playing forever Jay and night, You ofler the heavehs your silver

spray, Reflecting the gold in the sunbeam's ray.

Imparting to earth your magical powers, Refreshing the leaves of the moistureless flowers; Never aweary, ceaseless in motion, Constant as Waves from the billowy ocean.

E'er on a moonlight night you rise, And flash your pendulous pearls to

the skies, Only to lose their celestial gain, And fall to earth like a vernal rain. Into the season of decay, IVhen Autumn's shed her bright

array, Caught in a fresh and frolicsome squall, You sway in the air to shimmer and fall.

Glorious fountain, your beauty doth shine, You nourish the Earth with your waters divine; BeWitchingly showering the cold clay clod, Upwardly sending your praises to God. —Original by Marjorie Court (14).
