TREES WILL FORM BEACON

Six thousand trees are to bo planted at Portsmouth to form the first 'tree beacon in England—a landmark for airmen and sailors. The site chosen is a three-acre plot on Portsdown Hill, which rises nearly 400 ft. above Portsmouth and can be seen by airmen from all directions, as well as by ships at sea.
