AUSTRIAN SKI CHAMPION
AUSTRALIAN APPOINTMENT 'An Austrian who in 1933 won the ski-ing championship of his country, and in the past two years has been ski instructor at Sun Valley, Idaho, United States, Mr. 11. Cossman, passed through Auckland yesterday by the Monterey for Sydney, to take up a similar appointment with the New South AVales Government. Tho visitor Inst year won the championship of Utah and was sixth in tho American open championship slalom, jumping and downhill events. Ho said that in recent years ski-ing had become very popular, especially in the United States, where young people were eager to learn, and, in his opinion, America's best skiers~ compared favourably with the most accomplished Europeans. Mr. Cossman will be stationed at Koskiusko.
