CONTRACTS FOR WHEAT

ANY VARIETY OF GRAIN DECISION OF MILLERS [BY TELEGKArn —OWN CORRESPONDENT] CHKISTCHURCH, Friday To encourage growers to sow larger areas of wheat, the New Zealand Flourmillers' Society has decided to urge its members to contract with growers for the growing of any variety of wheat in any locality. Before taking the step the society referred the proposal to the Wheat Committee, which agreed that such contracts would be in accordance with the wheat and flour regulations and would be most valuable to the industry. The United Wheatgrowers' Association, which was also approached, has also expressed itself in full agreement with the step taken. Growers are to be sent circulars advising them of the new development. Any grower wanting to take advantage of the offer is advised to consult his usual broker, who will obtain full particulars from the mills concerned. Lit the past, millers have been in the habit of contracting only for special varieties of wheat, such as jumbuck and marquis, but they are now prepared to enter into similar contracts for any variety grown in any locality.
