WOMEN'S ORGANISATION CENTRAL BRANCH MEETING A meeting of the centra! branch of the Women's Organisation of the National Party was held yesterday afternoon at the residence of Mrs. Braik, Braeburn, .Symonds Street. About 60 ladies were present, and Mrs. E. S. Crump presided in the absence of the president, Dr. Hilda Northeroft. An address was given by Miss Alice Basten, who stressed the necessity for women to take an active interest in civic affairs as well as in national politics. Several new members were enrolled by Mrs. F. Levis, and a social committee was formed.

The members comprised Mrs. Pegler, convener, Mrs. Hillier, -Mrs. North, Mrs. l'\ A. Daere, Miss Paterson, Mrs. King, Miss G. Williams, Miss 1?. Williams.

Following the address by Miss Basten, afternoon tea was served by Mrs. Braik, who was assisted by Miss Braik.
