MAN ON ASSAULT CHARGE EFFECT OF WAR INJURIES [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON, Tuesday "The time has not yet passed, and I hope it never will be, when the services given by a man to his country in time of peril will be forgotten," said the Chief Justice, Sir Michael Myers, in the Supreme Court at Hamilton to-day. when Patrick Joseph Ryan, aged 41, a farm labourer, Gordonton (Mr. J, F. Strang), appeared for sentence for indecently assaulting a male. Evidence as to the prisoner's mental and physical health was given by Dr. St. L. H. Gribben, who expressed the opinion that prisoner should be forbidden the use of alcohol. His Honor «.aid he verv much dis-
liked granting probation in such cases, but prisoner had a good war record and had suffered severely. His present trouble was undoubtedly due to war injuries. V
His Honor admitted prisoner to probation for two years, on conditions requiring him to pay the costs of the prosecution, £6 Is 6d, and to take out and maintain a prohibition order.
