ROUND TABLE CLUB

ADDRESS TO MEMBERS HISTORY OF NEW ZEALAND 4j The Auckland Business and Professional Women's Round 'lablo Club held its fortnightly dinner last evening when a huge number of members and Suests assembled to hear the Rev. A. . Chappell, M.A., give an interesting address oh phases of New Zealand's history. The president, Miss I. Tanner, introduced Mr. Chappell, who covered a broad canvas in his delineation of events in New Zealand's history. Ho referred to the fact that, in many instances, the chronicling of these events was not always authentic. Mr. Chappell took his audience back to the year 1300, the time of the arrival of the so-called fleet of seven canoes in which the natives came to New Zealand from Hawaiiki, and so to later times, covering in his progress the important factors of our early colonising. At the conclusion of his address, Mr. Chappell was accorded a vote of thanks.
