CONDITIONING POULTRY

With the winter coming on the addition of up to 2 per cent of a good sample of cod liver oil will do much to keep the birds in good order and help them to make new feathers. At this period do not cut the protein out of the mash. Many people are inclined to do this and the result is that the birds got in an overfat condition that is not conducive to good fertility or hatchability. Bemember that the best breeders are those that are in good hard, lean condition—birds that arc neither too fat nor too thin —and that it is the judicious addition of proteins that encourages this condition.
