GENERAL ELECTION
THE MOTUEKA SEAT LABOUR CANDIDATE [BT TELEGRAPH —OWN" CORRESPONDENT] WELLINGTON, Wednesday The national executive of the New Zealand Labour Party announces that Mr. C. F. Skinner, of Inangahua Junction, has been selected to contest the Motueka seat by .the members of the party resident in the electorate, and has now been endorsed as the party's official candidate. Born in 1900 and educated in Auckland, Mr. Skinner has been active in the political and industrial Labour movement for many years and been engaged in farming, sheep shearing and on Public Works Department works. Ho is now employed on bridge works on the Inangahua-Westport Railway. He has held official positions in the Labour Partj- and is president of the Inangahua Valley Medical Association.
HAMILTON CONTEST NATIONAL NOMINATIONS [fbom our own correspondent] HAMILTON, "Wednesday Nominations for the National Party's candidate to represent the Hamilton electorate at tho general elections closed this afternoon. Four nominations were received, these being as follows: —Mr. 11. Cobbe, of Huakiwi; Mr. J. R. Fow, of Hamilton; Mr. A. W. Grant, x>f Te Aroha; Mr. T. Parker, of Hamilton. A meeting of members of the Hamilton branch of the National Party will be held 011 May 26 to select the candidate.
