WEDDINGS
STACEY—HANFLING A very pretty wedding took place on Wednesday at St. Benedict's Church, when Miss Madeline M. Hanfling was married to Mr. Trevor J. Stacey. The bride is the daughter of Mrs". L. and the late Mr. J. Hanfling, of Mount Eden, and the bridegroom the oply son of Mr. and Mrs. V. Stacey, Northcote. The lit. Rev. Monsignor Ormond officiated and during the ceremony Miss M. Murphy sang Gounod's "Ave Maria." The Wedding March was played by Miss K. O'Leary. The bride, who was given away by her cousin, Mr. J. Scoullar, of Huntly, wore a medieval gown of magnolia satin beaute with shirred corsage and sleeves. The Bkirt fell gracefully to form a peacock train and her veil was held by a wreath of tiny orange blossoms. A bouquet of cream crysanthemums, rosebuds and bouvardias was carried. The bridesmaids were Miss Nancy Hanfling, gister of the bride, and Miss Lotus Stacey, sister of the bridegroom. Little Dawn Hanfling, niece of the bride, was a dainty flower girl. Victorian gowns of primrose moire taffetas with Juliet caps of velvet iridescent primroses were worn by the bridesmaids, and they carried sheafs of autumn-tinted chrysanthemums. The flower girl wore primrose taffetas, with Dolly Varden bonnet. The bridegroom was attended by Mr. H. Brown as best man and Mr. Don. Algie as groomsm The reception was held at the Parnell Kiosk, where Mrs. Hanfhpg, mother of tho bride, received. the guests wearing a frock of black ripple wave crepe romaine, with diamante clasps. A matching black hat was warn and she carried a bouquet of red zinnias. Mrs. Stacey, mother of the bridegroom, was in a navy ensemble of satijl de luxe, and her bouquet was in autumn tonings. The ushers were Mr. Hobson and Mr. P. Eyre. COVENTRY—TAYLOR •The wedding took pi ice on Thursday afternoon in St. Andrew 8 Church, Claudelands, of Miss Marie Taylor, eldest daughter of Mr. and Sir 3' Taylor, of Gordonton, to Mr. Donald Carmichael Coventry, only son of Mr. and Mrs. M. W. Coventry, of Matangi. The ceremony was performed by the Rev. H. G. Gilbert, and Mr. E. H. Apthorp played the wedding music. Floral decorations had been carried out in tho church with chrysanthemums in shades of gold and white. The bride, who entered the church with her father, wore a graceful Victorian gown of ivory cream-spotted net over a foundation of satin and net. A x veil of-ivory tulle, which was worn over the face on entering the churchy was held to the head by a cbaplet of ivory satin roses and green leaves. She carried a Victorian posy of ivory roses and chrysanthemums. . , _ The bridesmaid, Miss Muriel House, wore a frock of gold tulle over a taffetas foundation. Fashioned on Victorian lines, the bodice, the puffed sleeves and the panels of the skirt were embroidered in gold, while the neckline was appliqued with green leaves. On her hair she wore a wreath of golden rosebuds and carried a Victorian posy of roses and chrysanthemums in the same shade. The best nian was Mr. Brian Oliver,. of Cambridge, and the ushers were Mr. Ralph Taylor and Mr. Mac. Taylor, the bride's brothers. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of the bride s parents, where Mrs. Taylor received her guests wearing a frock of bottle green crepe-de-chine and a hat of toning peach bloom felt. She earned a posy ot golden flowers. Mrs. Coventry, the Bridegroom's mother, was in a frock of navy blue wool crepe-de-chine with gold relief, and a navy hat. Her posy was of autumn-tinted flowers.
