Dr. Caroline Croasdale, mistress at the Normal College in Troy, New York, is visiting New Zealand for the first time as a passenger on the Franconia. She left yesterday morning for a motor tour of Rotorua and Waitomo. Mrs. E. A. Lepper, of Northcote, has returned after an absence of five weeks, having spent a fortnight with her sister, Mrs. E. W. Barnard, at Raglan, and three weeks with her daughter, Mrs. W. M. Bain, at Rangiriri. Mrs. G. Durrant and Mrs. Durrant (Nelson), Mrs. G. McLachlan (Hamilton), Mrs. J. E. At the muuml meeting of the Kohimarama-Mission Bay Woman's Progressive League Miss Alice H. G. Bastcn was elected honorary vicepresident. Lady Poynt. wife of Sir Hugh Poynter, of Sydney, who is accompanying her husband on a business trip to England, is a passenger on the Franconia, which arrived from Wellington yesterday. With her are her two (laughters, Miss J. D. Poynter and Miss S. L. Poynter. The members of the Matakana branch of the Women's Christian Temperance Union arranged a luncheon in honour of Mrs. Hugh Kasper. Later, Mrs. Kasper addressed the meeting 011 methods of the Women's Christian Temperance Union in New Zealand and abroad. Mrs. E. Roke presided. The president of the Returned Army Nursing Sisters' Association, Mrs. P. J. North, laid a floral wreath qn the Cenotaph on Anzac Day. It was >a replica of the New Zealand Arniv Nursing Sisters' badge, with silver fern leaves enclosing a red cross. A wreath of poppies was laid by the honorary secretary, Mrs. L. R. Haworth, and Mrs. F. 0. Webster.
