THAMES PIONEERS
EARLY DAYS RECALLED REUNION OF ASSOCIATION Bowls of richly-coloured autumn flowers decorated the stage and tables in the Lewis Eady Hall on Saturday afternoon, when a largely-attended reunion of the Old Thames Girls' Association was held. On behalf of the president, Mrs. Alfred Oldham, tho Rev. R. Alley welcomed thoso present, and expressed Mrs. Oldham's appreciation ot various helpers who had organised tho arrangements for the At Home. Mr. Alley paid a tribute to tne achievements of ex-Thames residents in other parts of the world. He said their successes were largely duo to tne pioneering spirit which they, had inherited from their forefathers. Reference was made to tho passing since the last meeting of tho association of Mrs. Ellen Ambury, vice-president, and one of the founders of tho association, Mrs. M. Bayliss, a life member, and Mrs. J. Lang, a member. Songs were sung by Mrs. de Berg, Mrs. McKcnzie, and Miss Margaret G err and; musical monologues were contributed bv Miss Yorke; and recitations by Miss Casley and Miss Dunham. Mr. Vernon Coney played 'cello solos. Afternoon tea in charge of Mrs. Dawson and helpers concluded a pleasant afternoon.
