TRAINS IN THE NORTH

TIMETABLE CHANGES Alterations in the timetables of passenger and goods trains running in the North Auckland district are announced by the Railways Department. The revised timetables, which have been rendered necessary by the considerable increase in the traffic handled in the North, will come into operation on May 1. In place of the present 12.40 p.m. Otiria-Kaikohe train, which runs on Monday, Wednesday and Friday,' a train will leave Otiria for Kaikohe at 11.10 a.m. dailv, and a connecting train will leavo Kaikohe at 12.40 p.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays for Okaihou. A daily service from Kaikohe to Otiria will also be commenced. An increased number of trains carrying goods and passengers has. been arranged on the lines. An additional return goods train will begin running daily, with tho exception of Saturday and Sunday, between Auckland and Whnngarei.
