POLICY OPPOSED
BRITISH ORGANISATIONS LONDON, April 10 Reynolds' newspaper claims that the leaders of organisations with memberships of over 1,000,000 are already supporting the campaign to save Spain and push out Mr. Chamberlain. It asserts that the Cliveden group, pro-German and pro-Franco, has drawn up a new programme, including a settlement with Japan, provided that British investments in China are protected and a renewed approach to Germany is made when the time is propitious. The paper also says the group told Mr. Chamberlain, when he spent a week-end at Cliveden, that the Government should have a Minister for Defence Co-operation, a • Director of Industrial Co-ordination and a Minister of Propaganda. A proposal for such a triumvirate has certainly been made to the Government.
