ROTORUA INTERESTS

WOMEN'S CLUB ACTIVITIES The first social afternoon of the year was held by the Rotorua Women's Club on Tuesday. Mrs. W. L. Richards presided in the absence of the president, Mrs. G. H. French, who had left, for England. Miss Ruth Holland and Mrs, R. T. Hill, a visitor from Taupiri, entertained those present with musical items and a very amusing interval was spent in the making of impromptu speeches. Among those present were:—Mrs. Unsworth, Mrs. A. T. Coates, Mrs. W. Riddle, Mrs. Bellworthy, Mrs. A. Clarke, Mrs. Basire, Mrs. A. F. Powell, Mrs. Dennison Smith, Mrs. W. Dingwall, Mrs. Cottle, Mrs. Steele, Mrs. Goodyer, Mrs. Swift, Mrs. L. Lewis, Mrs. C. A. McKinney, Mrs. G. Lodge, Mrs. A. Hamilton (Auckland), Mrs. R. T. Hill (Taupiri), Miss Robinson, Miss R. Holland. Tho fortnightly meeting of the Rotorua Travel Club was held in the bowling club pavilion recently. Two interesting addresses were given. Tho first was by Miss Herbert, of Auckland, who described her study of the Chinese art exhibition in London in 19«%. Tho second speaker was Dr. J. D. C. Duncan, of Rotorua, who described his recent tour in Central Europe. Supper was served at the conclusion of the meeting. Mrs. C. Hitchcock, of Pukuatua Street, spent tho week-end at Mount Maunganui. * Mrs. 11. A. Potter, of Sophia Street, is a visitor to Auckland. Mrs. S. J. Blackmore, of Whaka Road, has returned home after spending a short holiday in Auckland. Mrs. E. R. Riggs, of Tilsley Street, is visiting Cambridge. Mrs. C. S. Dalgliesh, of Union Street, is visiting her daughter, Mrs. Coyle, of Mount Eden, Auckland. Mrs. W. Keith Lindsay, of Whakauo Street, has returned from a holiday spent in Auckland.
