Mrs. C. W. M. Vereker, Warrington Road, Reihuera, has returned from Wellington, where she has been for tho last three weeks.
Lady Stewart, Pigeon Bay, Canterbury/will leave by the Rangitane on May 7, on a visit to England. Her two small daughters will accompany her.
Miss Marjorie Macfarlane, Gillies Avenue, Epsom, left last night by the limited for Wellington, where she will connect with the Tamaroa for England.
Mrs. G. Cordwell (Hastings), Mrs. W. E. Hookey (To Ruke), Mrs. A. Watson (Auckland) and Miss^ Mainwaring (Wellington) are at the Station Hotel.
Mrs. E. C. Bealo and Mrs. J. D. Williamson have returned from Hawke's Bay and will be in Auckland for some time. They are at present at Hotel Cargcn.
Mrs. Angus Bunting, of London, who is the guest of Mrs. Frank Macky, Dromorne Road, Remuera, will iguvg bv the Tamaroa from Wellington on her return home.
Tho Women's League of the Auckland British Israel Association held its montlilv meeting this week. The speaker was Mrs. M. Craig, who dealt comprehensively with her subject, Tho Redemption of Israel." which proved of great interest to her listeners. Afternoon tea was served.
The Papatoetoe branch of the Women's Christian Temperance Union held their monthly meeting this week in the Methodist Church Hall. Mrs. Fly presided. Mrs. Stimpson, of Auckland, addressed the meeting. Mesdames Leonard and Fly were appointed delegates to attend the alliance convention. Afternoon tea was served.
The Remuera branch of the W.C.T.TT. met on Tuesday. An interesting address by tho president, Mrs. Hugh Kasper dealing with the Dominion conference held in Napier was given, and tho resolutions passed at that conference were outlined. A member of the Wbangarei branch, who has come to live in Auckland, was welcomed. Tea was served by the committee.
