MARTHA OPERATIONS 39530 Z. FROM 17,379 TONS [BY TELEGRAPH —OWN correspondent] WAIHI, Thursday The following information has been cabled to the London office of the Martha Gold Mining Company (Waihi), Limited:—For the period ended-April 9 comprising 20 crushing days, 17.379 tons of ore were crushed for a result of 3953 fine ounces of cold and 22,555 fine ounces of silver. This includes 85 tons mined from the Grand Junction area, which yielded 15 fine ounces of gold and 75 fine ounces of silver. No. 4 Level.—H. branch: The vein at 75ft. in the Lovett crosscut was driven east 24ft., but, although the value is good, the width is narrow, being not more than 12in. Driving has been suspended. ■ No. 5 Level.—Lode at Boft. north . 6 in the Taylor crosscut: The next 12ft. >S west assays 10s 6d per ton. Driving is suspended.
YIELDS OF COMPANIES , Sandhills (Otago).—The return from the third paddock was 990z 3dwt. Operations were commenced in this paddock on Maroli 31, - Clutha River (Otago).—Week ended April 15 a total of 131oz for 138 hours.
