VISIT TO LONDON
FRENCH MINISTERS DISCUSSION OF PROBLEMS DEFENCE AND POLITICS By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright LONDON, April 17 The French Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, MM. Daladier and Bonnet, expect to stay 48 hours in London on their forthcoming visit, says the Paris correspondent of the Daily Telegraph. In addition to military, naval and air discussions the conversations will cover every field of international politics in which Britain and France are interested, especially the AngloItalian pact, the Spanish question and Central European problems. It is anticipated that the discussions will be followed up when King George and Queen Elizabeth visit France in June. KING AND QUEEN PREPARATIONS FOR VISIT GREAT WELCOME ASSURED [from our owx correspondent] LONDON, March 30 A further credit of £50,000, voted unanimously to-day by the Chamber of Deputies for the State visit of King George and Queen Elizabeth in June, brings the total amount to be spent to £120,000, says a message from Paris. In asking for the credits the Foreign Minister, M. Paul Boncour, said: "The Government and Parliament of France are eager to receive the Sovereigns of Great Britain with all the splendour and dignity which is their due. Our greeting will be impressive and cordial." Arrangements detailed in the bill indicate the elaborate nature of the plans to be made for the visit, which will begin on June 28 and will last three days. The suite which the King and Queen will occupy at the Quai d'Orsay is to be thoroughly redecorated. Estimates have been asked from the railways for special trains and for alterations to the Bois de Boulogne station, where the King and Queen will arrive in Paris. Additional troops will be brought from the provinces to Paris to supplement the garrison in providing escorts and lining the streets. The King, it is added, will doubtless attend military manoeuvres at the Camp of Satory, near Versailles. The Ministry of Marine will organise the reception of officers and men of the Royal Navy who will come to France on the occasion of the visit. The series of official receptions will include two dinners, followed by dances, one midday banquet, and a gala performance at the Opera.
