CHECK TO HITLER

FRENCH PEOPOSALS CONFERENCE OF DIPLOMATS QUESTIONS TO THE POWERS By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received April 7, 11.59 p.m.), PARIS, April 7 The French representatives in Moscow, Warsaw, Bucharest and Prague, who have been conferring with the Foreign Minister, M. Paul Boncour, are returning with instructions to inquire of the Governments to which they are accredited: Firstly, what steps they are prepared to take in the event of aggression against Czechoslovakia; secondly, whether they are prepared to co-ordinate their central European policy with that of France; thirdly, whether they are willing to bring about a general Russo-Polish and Rumania-Czechoslovakian understanding.

M. Paul Boncour's conference is stated to have proved that the time is ripe for negotiations with Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Poland and Rumania for .the purpose of checking Hitlerism in Eastern Europe. The move has re-established Czechoslovakia's confidence and has also led to appreciation of the value of following up an agreement between Britain and Italy with an Italo-French rapprochement.
