B. II MORRIS AT EASTER WIDELY-SEPARATED MOUNTS B. H. Morris will ride Oratory in the Easter Handicap and Ecstatic in the Great Northern Champagne Stakes at Ellerslie. Morris will travel by plane to Christchurch to fulfil a riding engagement on Sovereign Lady in the Great Autumn Handicap on the second day of tho Canterbury Jockey Club's meeting. NOTES FROM EVERYWHERE TRACK AND STABLE GOSSIP P. Atkins is to rido Francis Drake in tho Easter Handicap at Ellerslie and this will mean that ho will carry several pounds over-weight. No rider has yet been engaged for the favourite, Stretto. Oriental Bay, who shaped attractively in a sprint at Ellerslie yesterday morning, is a two-year-old gelding by King Lu from Queen Arch and half-brother to King Musk. A fine, upstanding gelding, this youngster, who is trained privately, has not yet raced, but ho will probably be seen out at tho Franklin meeting next month.
Important handicap races to be decided at Epsom Downs, England, this month are tho Great Metropolitan on April 19 and tho City and Suburban on tho following day. The three-year-old Silver Eagle finished very gamely under the whip when he won the Hinuera Handicap at Matamata last Saturday and m vie* of the fact that it was only his third start ho may be expected to acme\e further success as ho becomes jj? rG seasoned. Silver Eagle is a bay gelding by Bronze Eagle from Ely si an Rose and hie pedigree suggests speed.
