MARRIAGES AND BIRTHS
INCREASES IN CANADA [from our own correspondent] OTTAWA, March 1 An increase of 9 per cent in marriages in urban centres of Canada in 1937 and 2 per cent in births is reported by the Dominion Bureau of Statistics. Births increased from 79,676 in 1936 to 81,207 in 1937, while marriages increased from 30,954 to 40,839. These figures are regarded as reflecting the increasing confidence of the public in the tinned prosperity of Canada.
