NEW SOUTH WALES

MURRUMBIDGEE SEAT LABOUR NOW IN LEAD SYDNEY, March 31 The counting of postal and absentee votes is proceeding in connection with the recent New South Wales general election. A surprise was caused when additional votes for the Murrumbidgee electorate gave the Labour candidate, Mr. A. G. Enticknap, a lead of 46 over the Country Party member 5 Mr. R. H. Hankinson. Earlier in the week Mr. Hankinson had a majority of about 100, and it was expected that the postal and absentee votes would favour him, but it now appears likely that ho will lose his seat, in which case Labour will have won two seats at the election.
