CAR ROLLS OVER BANK

MAN AND WIFE INJURED [from our own correspondent] OTOROHANGA, Thursday A motor-car driven by Sirs. A. Tait, of K.io Kio, with her husband and sister, Mrs. Wiggins, as passengers, when travelling to Otorohanga left the road at a sharp bend when passing a cyclist, and rolled over a bank. Sirs. Tai.t suffered a fractured rib and facial bruises, and Mr. Tait had two ribs broken beside receiving severe abrasions. Mrs. Wiggins suffered shock and bruises.

FAILURE OP BRAKES UNOCCUPIED CAR WRECKED [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] ROTORUA, Thursday An unfortunate mishap was experienced by two Rotorua residents yesterday afternoon. On returning from Okataina, they parked their car on a hill and went back a short distance to take a ph6tograph. Apparently, owing to some defect, the brakes of their car failed to hold and the photographers looked up to see their vehicle slipping backwards down the hill. They made a frenzied effort to reach it and check its career, but were too late. The car crashed backwards over a steep drop of •, 100 ft. The vehicle was completely wrecked, and the two occupants were forced to walk a distance of about six miles in - order to obtain assistanco.
