It stated that the championship honours i were well distributed around tho clubs .■ after very keen competitions. I The junior grade ibad 15 teams competing in tho sections, the third grado 13 teams, 'tfie intermediate grado 15, tho fourth grade X 4, the fifth grade 11 and tho sixth grado six.
The silver football was won by Manukau Rovers for the third successive year, whilo the Southland Shield was won by Grammar Old Boys.
Representative teams played matches against the various sub-unions and local teams played t*ams all over the province. The following management committee was elected for the 1038 season:—Messrs. A. Tilly• J. Carr, E. Matthews, M. Judd, E. Watkins, C. Addison. H. C. Rowlands, M. J. Moore, A. L, Siinnionds, J. B. Proud. R. Hnrrop, C. L. Cherney.
A vote of thanks was passed to the retiring members' of last year's committee for tho valuable service renderod, such having been greatly appreciated. At a subsequent committeo meeting Mr. A. Tilly was re-elected chairman and also delegate to Ahe Auckland Rugby Union.

Dixon, at the annual meeting last evening of the Rugby Sub-Union, which wsis largely • attended.
