RIFLE SHOOTING
AUCKLAND CITY CLUB Championship shooting was continued by the Auckland City Defence Rifle Club over the long ranges. Sighting, except for occasional changes in light, was good, but the light rear wind, which has been experienced so many times during the season, was again in evidence, and some of the scores suffered accordingly. Outstanding scores were made by the junior, R. R. Boaden. at 800 yards and b.v the club champion, F. Bowes, at 1)00 yards. With handicaps and penalties adjusted spoons were won by J. E. Kelly and K. R. Boaden. The A grade trophy for the last four shoots was won by C. J. M. Clark with seven points. J. E. Kelly with five and H. G. Collingwood with four were runners-up. The B grade trophy, which has yet to lie shot off, resulted in a tie between E. Hill and \. J. (i Boot with five points each. Scores off the rifle were as follows:—A grade: F. Bowes, 10, —9l; ('. J. AKARANA CHAMPIONSHIP The final shoot of the Akarana Rifle Club championship and trophy series was fired on Saturday over the long ranges for trophies presented by Messrs. J. H. Bridges and J. M. Rennie. Shooting was below the club's usual standard. Trophy points were awarded as follows: Section A. W. Powell. 4: W. Colquhoun, 3; X. Graham, 2; and J. M, Rennie, 1. Section B.—A. Buchanan. 4; A.
