CHURCH GARDEN PARTY

The delightful grounds of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. C. Allum, Curran Street, presented an animated appearance on Thursday afternoon, when toe ladies of St. John's Church held a successful garden party. The function was opened by Mrs. F. G. Alpe, who was introduced to the company by the hostess, Mrs. G. Smith. A programme of music and elocution was rendered from the balcony to an appreciative audience. The artistes were: Mrs. De Berg (contralto), Miss Betty Brown (soprano bracket), and Mrs. J. Pool (elocution). Mrs. Roger Errington was the accompanist. Afternoon tea was served beneath the trees by the ladies, under the direction of Mrs. C. J. Green.
