NEW MOTOR-SHIP

BRISBANE STAR IN PORT 29 DAYS FROM LIVERPOOL After an exceptionally fast passage of 29 days from Liverpool, via Panama and Pitcairn Island, the Blue Star motor-ship Brisbane Star arrived at Auckland yesterday morning on her first visit. The Brisbane Star, of 11,076 tons gross, was launched last year and has already gained a reputation for speed on her previous three voyages from England to Australia. She was not taxed in reaching Auckland in 29 days, her longest noon to noon run being 444 nautical miles on the second day out of Liverpool. In appearance the motor-ship is similar to others of the series of new ships recently launched for the line, particularly Melbourne Star and Dunedin Star. Her master is Captain F. N. Riley.
