WAITEMATA COUNTY ROADS
Sir, —Being a ratepayer in the Titirangi riding of the Waitemata County, I. cannot allow tho chairman's recent remarks in this column to pass without replying. It would bo impossible to name a road in this riding that is in good order. In School Road, which was torn up approximately two years ago, tho footpaths arc left in an unsafe condition and the carriageway in many places is only fit for a one-way traiiic, with so-called water tables 18in, to 2()in. deep. I would invite the chairman and county members to visit Park and Tanekaha Roads, as well as Codlcy, Huia and Atkinson Roads. These, in fact all the roads in the riding, are in a deplorable condition. We ratepayers, although called upon to pay a big increase in the rates, are like people calling in the wilderness, and cannot sen one ray of hope for improvement under tho present administration. Another Ratepayer.
