PALMERSTON SEAT
NATIONAL CANDIDATE I MR. J. A. NASH SELECTED [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] PALMERSTON NORTH, Thursday As the result of a ballot held by members of the National Party in the Palmerston electorate Mr. J. A. Nash secured a clear majority over the other two nominees, Mr. A. E. Mansford and Mr. M. H. Oram, and accordingly, subject to the approval of Dominion headquarters, will be the official candidate to represent the National Party at the next election.
Mr. Nash was first elected to Parliament at a by-election in 1918 and held the seat continuously until 1935, when he was defeated by Mr. J. Hodgens (Labour).
