RECORD FOR SEASON • LAST AUSTRALIAN CRUIBK STRATHMORE DUE TO-MORROW The final cruise ship from Australia to visit Auckland this season, the P. and 0. Uner Strathmore. will arrive at noon to-morrow from Brisbane with 100 l passengers, the -largest number ' carried in this year's cruises. Exactly 1000 are tourists, the remaining 51 being through passengers for New Zealand from London. Because of health restrictions on skips reaching Auckland from Australia the Strathmore will anchor in the stream for pratique before berthing. A programme of inland tours has been arranged for her passengers. Some v.ill re-embark on the Strathmore before she leaves for Wellington at 11 o'clock on Saturday night and others will re-, join her at Wellington before she sails for Sydney on Monday. 6 Although the Strathmore is the last »§ of the Australian cruise ships this" season, three world cruise liners will arrive at Auckland next month. The Hamburg-Amerika liner R<hiJmc6"\i:ill reach port on April 11 and the giant Canadian-Pacific liner Empress of Britain is expected the following day. The third ship is the Cunard-Wliite Star Franconia, which will visit Auckland on April 26.
