T JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS SUCCESS OF MISS M. BEVERLEY (Received March 9, 10 p.m.) SYDNEY, March 9 The Junior tennis championships of New South wales were continued to-day, MiSS.M. Beverlev (New Zealand) winning the girls singles title for players under 21 years. Miss Beverley beat Miss Douthott (New Zealand), 6—2, 6—-3, in the final. It was an excellent match, in which the winner played very well. In the irirls" doubles semi-final under 21 Misses Beverley and Douthett (New Zealand) beat Misses Armstrong and Wilson New Zealand), B—6, 7—5. This was a splendidlycontested match right through, the volleying and ground strokes being excellent.

Misses Armstrong (New Zealand) and Farrell (New South Wales) beat Misses Irwin and Kelso, (N«w South Wales), (>—l, B—6, in the girls' doubles under 19. This success brings the winning pair into the' final. In the girls' doubles under 17, Misses Hodges (New Zealand) and Irwin {New South Wales) beat Misses Nowland and Tansey (New South Wales), 6 —3. EXHIBITION MATCHES QUIST AND STEDMAN Tennis enthusiasts will be given an opportunity on Saturday of seeing in action the famous Australian Davis Cup player,. A. K. Qnist, who will meet A. C. Stedman, New Zealand's strongest player and Davis Cup representative, in exhibition matches at Stanley Street. In doubles, at which Quist is rated as one of the finest players in the world, the Australian will play with A. D. Brown against A. C. Stedman and J. W. Gnnn. The matches have been arranged as a result of Quist's generosity in offering his • services. The Australian gave a wonderful ejihibition in Wellington on Satnrday and Stedman will be ont to improve on his showing on that occasion. PASCOE cup final The final of the Pascoe Cap inter-honse lawn tennis competition, which was to have been held last night, was postponed on account of rain. Although no definite date has been announced the event will probably be decided during next week.
