BRIDGE PARTIES HELD KENSINGTON CROQUET CLUB A series of bridge evenings has been arranged by members of the Kensington Croquet Club, two of which wore held during the past week. With Mrs. T. Sword, Mrs. E. J. Tibbits and Mrs Howard as hostesses, a pleasant evening was passed by a number of players in the club's pavilion, there being 10 tables. Tho winners were Mrs. W. G. Whitmore and Mr. J. Neale. Mrs. G. Andrews organised an evening at her home in Powhiri Avenue for the club, at which there were four tables of players. Mrs. A. Fairley and Mr. W. Flower won the first prizes and Mrs. W. G. Whitmore and Mr J. Neale the consolation prizes. Miss Betty Boult, of Nelson, is spend i ing a holiday with her grandmother. Mrs. E. Boult, of Mill Road. Mrs. J. Arthur, of Epsom. Auckland, is visiting Whangarei and is the guest of Mrs. G. Andrews, of Powhiri Avenue. Mrs. Devitt, of Hamilton, is visiting Whangarei and is tho guest of Mrs McKeown, Te Mai Road. Miss Ismay Allan is visiting Auckland. Mrs. 11. Woodroffe, of Matamata,. is visiting her son at Portland. Mrs. B. Godfrey and her daughter Nelsa, of Kauri, are on a holiday in Auckland. Mrs. S. Wickens is on a motor tour of the Hawke's Bay province. Mrs. Garnet Keene is visiting Wellington, where she is the guest of Mrs H. Webster. Mrs. J. Whimp is on a visit to Auckland. Mrs. W. 10. Crawford, of Wallace Street, has returned from a holiday spent in Auckland. Prior to her departure on a holiday to England Mrs. Glanvillo is visiting Whangarei and is staying with her daughter-in-law, Mrs. E. B. Glanville, of Princess Street. Mrs. Arthur Fisher has left on a month's holiday in Australia. Mrs. W. A. Christiansen has returned from an extended holiday at Onerahi. Miss Eileen Norris, Wallace Street, who has been- visiting Hamilton, has returned home. Mrs. J. P. Harrison, of Marua, is at present in Auckland. Mrs. McKeown has returned to hei home after an extended holiday spent in the south. Miss Edna Herrick has returned to Christchurch after a visit to her sister. Mrs. E. Hodren, of Onerahi.
