MAJESTIC THEATRE The talented young actress Deannn Durbin gives a performance which is charming in its naturalness in "lOC Mori and a Girl," which is to bo shown to-day at the Majestic Theatre. CIVIC THEATRE The work of Anna Noaglo and Antor Walbrook, together with brillianl spectacle, make "Victoria the Great,' which is to be presented at the Civi< Theatre, to-day, one of the most in teresting films of recent months. _ Th< life of the great queen is depictec with artistry from her accossion to th( throne until her jubilee. The closing scenes are photographed in beautifu technicolour. REGENT THEATRE Irene Dunne repeats the success o "Theodora Goes Wild" in "The Awfu Truth," which is now approaching th< close of an exceptionally long seasoi at the Regent Theatre. Strong suppor is given by Cary Grant, who is humor ous and dynamic as her husband, anc Ralph Bellamy. The terrier Asta als< has an important part in the _ action "Double or Nothing," an amusing filn dealing with an eccentric man's will is to commence a season at the Regen Theatre on Fridßy. JAMES' THEATRE The Metro - Goldwyn - Mayer (iln "Maytime," in which Jeanette Mac Donald and Nelson Eddy repeat th< success of their performances iii "Naughty Marietta," will again b< screened at St. James' Theatre to-day The story deals with the life of a prim: donna, and her romance with ai American singer. John Barrymore als< appears in the cast. A brilliant recorc of the life of the Irish statesman Par nell is given in the film which bear: his name and which will commence i season at St. James' Theatre on Fri day. Clark Gable takes the role of Par nell. and Myrna Loy is seen as Katii O'Shea. The supporting cast include; Edmund Gwenn, Billie Burke and Edm May Oliver. ROXY AND TIVOLI THEATRES The first film in which the Hits Brothers have taken the leading role "Life Begins at College" will have iti opening sessions at the Poxy and Tivol Theatres to-morrow. The reputation oi these typically American humorists has grown steadily since their appearance in sucli films as "Sing, Baby, Sine,' "On the Avenue" and "You Can't Have Everything," and in this picture thej are allowed to perform all the mern and nonsensical actions which they have hinted at in their previous films. In sup port of them there is a clever story, wit! Nat Pendleton taking the part of t wealthy Indian boy who goes to college. Others in the cast are Joan Davis Tony Martin and Gloria Stuart. TIVOLI THEATRE A programme consisting of sis separate pictures, including two fulllength films, will be presented at the Tivoli Theatre to-night, when guest night concessions will be available. The first film is a comedy entitled "Silly Billies," with Wheeler and Wolsey in the leading roles. Brian Donlevv and Gloria Stuart head a strong cast in "36 Hours to Kill," the second full-length film. A short comedy, a scenic film, .a novelty "Dumbell Letters," and a short feature depicting winter sports will also be screened. EMBASSY THEATRE The noted stago actress Gladys George gives one of her best screen performances in "Madamo X," which will ?ontinue its season to-day at the Embassy Theatre. The story of the film has been utilised on the stage and screen many times, two famous actresses who have taken the title role being Sarah Bernhardt and Ruth Chatterton. The part of Madame X's son s played by John Beal, while Reginald DwenJ as her husband, gives one of his best performances of recent years. MAYFAIR THEATRE A double-feature programme which is proving very popular is now being shown at the Mavfair Theatre, the main attraction being "Wife,_ Doctor ind Nurse." The second .film is "The Squeaker," from a story by Edgar Wallace. STRAND THEATRE The popular and sophisticated actress John Crawford heads a talented cast in "I Live My Life," a comedy >vith many humorous scenes and much sparkting dialogue, which is the chiof film in to-day's programme at the Strand Theatre. A second attraction of unusual merit is "Woman Wanted," in tvliirh Maureen O'Sullivan gives a pleasing performance. Joel McCrea takes the chief male role. PRINCE EDWARD THEATRE A . strong and exciting drama of the sea, "Hell-ship Morgan" heads the sntertaining programme to bo screened to-night at the Prince Edward Theatre. The second film to be shown is a clover comedy. "And So They Were Married." LONDON CINEMA The double-feature programme to bo screened to-day at the London Cinema comprises t*he films "The Great Impersonation" and "Two-Fisted Gentleman." CRYSTAL PALACE AND RIALTO A realistic film of the boxing profession, "Kid Galahad," will be shown to-night at the Crystal Palace and Rialto Theatres. Bettc Davis and Edward G. Robinson take leading roles. BERKELEY THEATRE Alice Faye has an important part in "Wake Up and Live," which will be screened to-night at the Berkeley Theatre together with a strong supporting programme. REGENT, EPSOM An Australian film "The Flying Doctor" will be offered to patrons of the Regent Theatre, Epsom, to-night, along with "Hooray for Love.'' ASTOR THEATRE Two full-length films entitled "Moot Nero Wolf" and "Affair of Susan" will be presented to-night at tho Astor Theatre. STATE THEATRE Shirlev Temple, Robert Young and Alice Faye appear in "Stowaway," which will be screened to-night at the State Theatre in conjunction with "She Had to Eat." STAR CINEMA A strong double-feature programme comprising ''Quality Street'' and "Everything is Thunder" will be presented at the Star Cinema to-day. TUDOR CINEMA One of P. G. Wodehouse's popular stories forms the busis of "Step Lively, Jeeves," which heads to-night's programme at the Tudor Cinema.

PLAZA THEATRE A comedy which is outstanding for its clever dialogue, "Fight For Your Lady," will continue a successful season at the Plaza Theatre to-day. A strong cast takes the leading roles, among the well-known names being Jack Oakie, John Boles, Ida Lupirio, Margot Gralmme and Eric Rhodes. The story opens in a wrestling stadium in London, and moves across liuropa to Budapest, where the hero, a singer portrayed by Holes, is challenged to a duel by a famous swordsman. The next attraction at the Plaza Theatre will be "Lancer Spy," a 20th' Century-Fox production. 'I ho east is headed by George Sanders, Dolores del Ilio and Peter Lorre. WINDSOR THEATRE The bright comedy "Three Smart Girls," in which Deanna Durbin gives a refreshing performance, will be presented to patrons of the Windsor Theatre to-night.
