TE AROHA, Monday The Morrlnsviile polo team was successful in a match against the Waihou team for the Ladies' Cup. played on the Herriesville (Te Aroha) ground, winning by< five goals to two. Morrinsvllle was represented by F. Klaus, J. Klaus. Mellowes and Douglas and Waihou by M. t'ltygerald, L. If itzgerald.. R. Mackay and O. Wyborn. In a curtain-raiser the newly-formed Paeroa Club, represented by Henry. Bailey, Taylor and 'lhomson, played a drawn game with a Waihou £ team, Nelson, M. Fitzgerald. F. and J. 0 Grady, the final score being four all. CAMERON OUP RETAINED CAMBRIDGE BEATS MATANGI [from our own correspondent] CAMBRIDGE, Monday The Cambridge A polo team retained thr Cameron Cup from a challenge by Matangi on Saturday, the score being six to one. This was the first game of the season on the Bardowle ground, which was in good order in spite of the grass being long in places. Matangi commenced well, but had no hope of beating the holders, who were superior in tactics and much better mounted George Pcake, who was brilliant a few seasonf ago, madfi a reappearance in the Matangi team, and demonstrated by his fearless rid ing And long hitting that he has lost none of his dash. The team* were:—Cambridge: R. Nolan C. G. Vesper, R. Peake, K. Pcake. Matangi G Howlett, J. Ranstead, L. Chitty G Pcake. For the winners G. Vosper, I\. Peakf and R Peake each scored two goals, whiU j G Peake was the scorer for Matangi.
