WAIHEKE CALEDONIANS

- FIRST ANNUAL MEETING A successful rear's activities were outlined at the first annual meeting of the "Waiheke Caledonian Society, which was held last night at Surfdale. Mr. J. Kennedy, chieftain, presided over a large attendance. In respect to the society's late chief, Mr. T. 0. Kirkpatrick, those present stood in silence. The membership of the society was 137, and the finances were in good condition. The following officers were elected:— Patron, Mr. A. Alison; chief, Mr. J. Kennedy, J.P.; chieftains, Messrs. J. U. Kennedy and G. E. Hill; honorary secretary, Mr. H. Gillespie; honorary treasurer, Mr. J. E. Kennedy; official piper, Mr. J. G. Kennedy; standard bearer, Mr. G. Gillespie; auditor, Mr. C. W. Brooke; committee, Messrs. W. R. Black, G. Gillespie, W. Saul and F. C. Davis.
