CYCLIST'S DEATH
STRUCK BY MOTOR-CAR AN ERROR CORRECTED In the report yesterday of an inquest Into the. death of Mr. Albert William Hyd«, aged 61, married, a retired school teacher, of 24 Kenneth Avenue, Mount Albert, who died in the Auckland Hospital on January 11 after being knocked off hie bisycle by a motor-car in Dominion Eoad the same day, an error occurred in the evidence of Constable Belcher, who produced a map of the. scene of the accident. Constable Belcher was credited, with having stated that there was a green mark on the road 77ft. long, made by the saddle-cloth of the cycle. His evidence, in fact, was .that the point of impact was 77ft. 9in. from the corner of Dominion Road and Prospect Terrace, and that the mark made by the siaddle-cloth was six inches long. We much regret the error in the teport. .
