FRAUDS DISPROVED
MR. LANG'S CHARGES NEW SOUTH WALES STATE COMMISSION'S REPORT (Received March 3, 12.00 a.m.) SYt>NEY, March 2 The Royal Commissioner, Mr. Justice Halse Rogers, has submitted a report which was made available by the Premier of New South Wales, Mr. B. S. Stevens, this evening, arising out of the public ifiquiry into the sale of Government industrial undertakings, particularly the State brickworks and quarries and the Monier pipe works, in 1936. In this connection, Mr. J. T. Lang, Leader of the Opposition, in December last, levelled charges against certain Ministers and individuals. The Commissioner reported that there was no ground for the charges of fraud, corruption and impropriety and ho completely exonerated the Premier, the Minister of Public Works, Mr. E. S. Spooner, Sir Sydney Snow, Sir James Murdoch, Mr. Telford Simpson and three members of tho Tenders Advisory Committee. Moreover, the evidence showed that the State's assets were not sacrificed as Mr. Lang had alleged. On the contrary, good prices were obtained in each case.'
