The doubles matches resulted:—Misses Cooke and Hodges (New Zealand) defeated Misses Coleburne and Kelso. G—3, I—G. ( j—a ; Misses Armstrong and Wilson (New Zealand) defeated Miss Prior and Mrs. Morgan, 2 —o, G—4, « —1; Misses Beverley, and Douthett (New Zealand) v. No mention is mado in the afcove results of Miss Cooke playing in the championships, so it is probable that jshe drew a bye in the first round. Judging, from the reports . of matches it appears that the under 37 competition is confined to one set only. Seeing that Miss Wilson is 10 yearg of age it is puzzling td find her name appearing in a class three years younger.
