Papatoetoe. Community singing opened the monthly meeting over which Mrs. Lowrie presided. A talk was given.by'Miss'Lewis, and an amusing competition was won by Mrs. St. George. Songs were given by Mrs. Wilson and Mrs. Wood. Kio Kio. —The monthly meeting was presided over* by the president, Mrs. Luxmore. Papier mache work was demonstrated by Mrs. A. Henderson. A bring-and-buy' stall was held to augment the funds of the King Countrv Federation. A competition for the lafgest potato was won by '.Mrs. S. J. Sanson, with Mrs. H. Ingham second. Meiubers brought gifts in honour of the approaching marriage of Miss E. Trott. Haiigatiki.—The first meeting of the year .was held at the home of Mrs. B. Amohauga and was presided over by Mrs. Bidwell. Two vice-presidents, Mrs. Amohanga and Sister Olive Bott, were nominated, and Mrs. Emery was proposed as candidate for tho King Country federation election in April. She will also act as delegate for the institute. A bring-and-buy stall for institute funds was conducted by • Mrs. H. Stafford.' Whariki making was demonstrated by Mrs. 11. Orinsby. Tho hostesses were Mrs. Emery and Sister. Olive Bott. Manawaru.—ln the absence of the president, Mrs. Wnugh, Mrs. Trebilco presided over the monthly meeting and gave a talk 011 her recent tour of Australia. The competition was won by Mrs. Hughes. The hostesses were Miss Davies, Miss Hughes and Miss Osborne.
