JEWS IN RUMANIA
APPEASEMENT SUGGESTION MR. W. J. JORDAN MENTIONED ■ ■ LONDON, Feb. 3 A message from Bucharest states that, after his return from Geneva, M. Micescu, Rumanian Foreign Minister, denied reports; that Mr. W. J. Jordan, the New Zealand High Commissioner in London, had sought an appeasement of the Rumanian Jewish question. He added that he had not interviewed Mr. Jordan and no one sought an appeasement of Rumanian internal policy, which did not need moderation. It was hoped the results of the forthcoming election would prove that the Jewish question should be removed from the League's dossiers.
IRON GUARD DECREE CATHOLIC MEMBERS BARRED (Received February 4, 5.5 p.m.) BUCHAREST, Feb. 3 M. Codreanu, leader of the Iron Guard, which is Rumania's anti-Jewish Nazi Party, has forbidden Catholics to join the organisation, presumably because they failed to support him in the recent elections.
