TENNIS FINALS
PERFECT CONDITIONS many spectators present CLOSELY-FOUGHT MATCHES A large number of enthusiastic spectators gathered to see the closelyfought finals of the Auckland tennis championships held at the Stanley Street courts on Saturday. There was a slight breeze blowing which made the conditions perfect for the spectators, as it prevented the heat from being excessive. The finalists in the ladies' events, Miss Margaret Beverley, Miss Berenice Bishop, Miss Marjorie Facfarlane, Miss Pam C'ooke and Miss Ruth Taylor, all looked smart and neat in either the now much-favoured shorts or short white dresses.
