Some simple new sweet recipes* for you to try. HONEYCOMBE TOFFEE 11 Two cups sugar, tablespoons vinegar, 1 teaspoon carbonate soda. Boil till brittle when dropped into water. When done add the soda, well crushed. Stir while taking off the fire, and as you stir, it should turn pale yellow. Then pour on buttered plates. Do not •tir while boiling. ICE CREAM CANDY Three cups sugar, i-teaspoon cream of tartar, j-cup hot water, J-tablespoon vinegar./ Boil without stirring until mixture becomes brittle when tried in cold water. Turn on to cold plates. At edges cool, fold them toward the centre. When sufficiently cool to handle, pull until white and glass}'. While pulling flavour with vanilla or orange. Cu* with scissois or sharp knife.

QUEEN'S BREAD Three large cups sugar, 1 small cup water, 1 tablespoou vinegar, butter (size of walnut). Boil until it snaps in cold water. Take off fire and put in largo basin for preference; then add one small teaspoon soda and one small teaspoon of cream of tartar. Stir well. COCONUT CARAMEL Two and a-half breakfast cups white 6Ugar, a piece of butter (size of a walnut), 2 tablespoons coconut, i-tea--6poon of vanilla essence, i-cup milk, L dessertspoon treacle, 1 teaspoon ground ginger. Put into an enamel pan the sugar, butter, milk, treacle and ground ginger. Boil carefully for 7 minutes. Add the coconut and vanilla. Boil 3 minutes longer, and then stand the pan in cold water and beat the mixture with a wooden spoon until thick. I'our into buttered dish and Btand in cool place to harden.
