RETURNS FOR DECEMBER Infectious diseases cases notified to the Health Department from the Auckland central district last month totalled 42, compared wich 45 notifications in December, 1936. Last month's cases included eight of pulmonary tuberculosis, three of diphtheria and one of scarlet fever. Seven cases of food poisoning were reported. \, »- In the Thames-Tauranga health district there were only four notifications last month, comprising three cases of food poisoning and one of pulmonary tuberculosis. There were six infectious cases reported from the district in the corresponding month of the previous year.
