ROYAL AIR FORCE

EXPANSION PROGRAMME NEW TYPES OF BOMBERS MANY SPEEDY MACHINES LONDON. Jan. 11 In connection with criticisms of the Air Ministry, it is reliably stated that the first-line strength of the Royal Air Force has been doubled since work on the expansion programme was begun in the middle of 1935. Five post-war types of bombers are being turned out at present. The Hawker Hurricane fighter, capable of a speed of more than 300 miles an hour, is being produced in large numbers. Deliveries will also be made shortly of a new and even faster fighter.
